Blown motor?

Well, I was driving home from work last night. Went to accelerate and got nothing. Engine starting sputtering and I eventually limped into a parking lot. Tossed on the Diablo and came up with code P2172... MAP Sensor or vacuum leak. I had it towed to a local shop to have them take a look. They said that there is no compression in cylinder 3 which means something is wrong with the valves, piston, combination, etc. I have 220k miles on her, so I am at the point of upgrading anyways. This has just forced my hand. I now have the Jeep sitting in my driveway and I'm not really sure what to do with it. For being 10 years old with this many miles, it's in pretty damn good shape. Anyone think it is worth trying to pull off the head and see what i find? Or better to just try and sell AS IS and get what i can and walk away?

220k miles is awesome! If you still like it, check and see what it will take to fix. Worst case, have it rebuilt or throw a stroker in it.

PWR/STAGE6/SHR/FTI/JerseyBoy tuning.....PB-10.31@131..1.51 60ft-10# full street trim
PB-10.01@141..1.53 60ft-18# race gas

I know. It's been an awesome car to drive!

I guess that is the ultimate question. What could I get selling it now? Vs spending some cash now to get it up and running and then selling it. Which would net out the highest.

All depends on what's wrong with it. Pull the heads and figure it out. Sound's like you will sell it no matter what so at least try to get it running maybe it is something easy who know open it up and find out worst case scenario it's completely shit and you sell it opened open as it either way you will not be getting slot from it

^^^ what the angrypolishguy said. Sounds like you have it in your mind to sell. If motor is shot, it would make a nice start for someone looking for one to put a built motor in.

IMO with that many miles on it things will start popping up and it will nickel and dime you broke. What ever it would take to fix it and put it down on a HELLCAT challenger or charger as the track hawk jeep will probably be a 90,000+ hellcat. This way you will have a beast with a warranty.

My WK1 had 175k on it when I sold it. Original owner. 10 years. Never an issue. Always ran great.
