707-HP Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Dethrones Bentley Bentayga

Quote:
The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has just dethroned the Bentley Bentayga as the world’s most powerful SUV.

After years of speculation, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has finally debuted with the same 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 in Dodge’s Hellcat models. This means the SUV has 707 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque and is able to get to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, which is not only impressive for an SUV, but impressive even by sports car standards. The Trackhawk does the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at 116 mph and tops out at 180 mph.

Up until now, the Bentley Bentayga was the world’s most powerful SUV with its W12 engine pushing 600 hp and getting the luxury SUV to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds, a full half-second slower than the new Trackhawk and for a lot more money. We’re curious to see how it compares to the Tesla Model X, which can get to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds.

I thought it'd be faster than 11.6. I do 11.8 on busted ass tires with less than 500hp and I'm a noob.

Hopefully a good driver can push it to low 11s

You have a stroker motor in your Jeep and have less than 500HP?

Weird, the forum won't let me edit anymore. I'm guessing you mean you have less than 500WHP? Which means you probably have 625-675 crank horsepower. You also weigh 1000lbs less. Maybe more.

11.6 1/4 mile is very impressive for this. It's the 0-60 that I was disappointed in. However, I'm guessing it's underrated, because most of us Wk2 owners have repeatedly beaten the factory performance claims by wide margins.

When I bought my rig it was dyno'd at 450hp/480trq. I have some upgrades since then but I'm guessing still under 500. With 15% drive train loss wouldn't that put me more to 575 crank?

Not saying it's not impressive, all that luxury and doing mid 11's, and now the fastest suv. Was just hoping for more.

I also agree on underrating it, that's why I hope with tires and a good driver low 11's are easy.

The Bentley is $230,000. Tesla X P100D is $135,000. The Jeep is significantly less then either. I feel like that's the selling point. Bang for the buck.

The Jeep is impressive. Period.

I think 15% Drive train loss is more like 20-25 isn't it?

I've always heard 15% used for RWD I guess more for the transfer case but I'm not sure.

I'm impressed! Can't wait to order mine. I know they built these knowing that people would tune and remove torq management, so I'm sure you could cut some of these times down.
