SRT Q&A Session Wed 4/12/06

The next SRT Engineering chat session is scheduled for Wednesday, April 12th. The session runs from 6 to 8pm EST and will be held right here in the new SRT Q&A forum!

As usual, there will be no questions answered regarding the Dodge Challenger concept, however the recently announced SRT-4 Caliber is fair game.

Re: SRT Q&A Session Wed 4/12/06

One question I'd like to ask is: Jeep compass Rallye. At one time, there had been articals on jeep making the compass, the rally vehicle to compete in european rally races.
Then I see articles on jeep compass isn't getting a SRT version.
Will the SRT group, in the future, consider a SRT compass just to race those races? Maybe a 2.0L turbo to meet that racing class. Or if permitted a 2.4L turbo.
Or is the caliber SRT going to enter that class of racing?

Plus, can you enlighten us on why DCX / Jeep had to change the nose of the compass rallye concept into the current compass US regulated bumper look.

Question: when replacing the stock turbo on the SRT4, do you have to used the same manifold when installing? Or can remove the turbo from the new kit and used the older manifold?

Is there a technique on the turbo manifold clamp on what position to place the bolt?

Re: SRT Q&A Session Wed 4/12/06

Two Questions:

Any way to make the rear fog lamps operate? What parts would be needed?

In the Owners Manual, they mention "Automatic Turn Signal" a three blink mode for lane change (as is common in Europe), how do you activate this feature?

i would like some insight on the use of cooler running thermostats, is the high temp only some emissions thing or is it the most efficent for combustion.
many have changed to lower temp stats, does it do anything good or bad?
