Has anyone tried this CAI P/N 77070054? It is the only CAI at the moment that is legal in California. I ordered it and just want to know my fellow Jeep SRT owners opinions.
Just ordered it from kernsville. If you don't mind me asking, how much was yours? My local dealership was going to charge me catalog price but kernsville sold it to me for $358. They said it very new and only few people have it.
Can you guys do some air intake temp comparisons for us? I've heard bad things about some of the aftermarket ones with aluminum composition soaking up all the ambient heat and actually running hotter temps than stock. I'm not seeing a pic for this one (FUEL-COLD AIR KIT | Genuine Mopar | 77070054).. is it plastic/composite? Rubber? Maybe you guys can confirm for us what your before/after temps look like before and after install under the same-ish driving conditions? Please?
I just ordered this. Hopefully Mopar knows what they are doing. It looks like the filter is well protected from heat and it does allow air in from the front lip removal just like the AFE.
Question: If you swap CAI's would that merit a re-custom tune? I would like to get this guy for the heat shield / trusted mopar R&D and get rid of the one I have, however, Jeep is currently being tuned with what I have now. (K&N filter and random polished pipe, no other info on the setup)
Edit to add: Found it on mopar america for 184 bucks less than catalog price. Geniune Morpar. Pulled the trigger, highly doubt it would need a retune after thinking about it some.
Installed today, need to trim it down a little as the hood doesnt sit flush with the fender. Im talking maybe 1-2mm. Also the bracket doesn't lineup with the mounting on the chassis.
Installed mine last night, 2015 fit great, air from below and above. Huge air filter, and got it on sale for 358 too. Otherwise it is expensive for what it does.
