6.4L 180 T-Stat

I know a few guys have swapped a 180 t-stat in on the WK2 and I had a few questions.

1) It's still the same part number as the 6.1L correct?

2) How does it fit on the WK2? IIRC with the WK1 the t-stat was a tight fit and trimming it helped.

3) What brand is recommended?

4) Did you see any improvement? Any guys running a tune with the 180 t-stat yet?

swapping to a 180 * stat? what comes stock on this motor? My LS2 has a 186* degree stat stock and guys swap down to a 160 * with no issues at all... I thought i noticed that the temps run a bit higher on this motor. I think I saw 216* or so the other day.

Yikes! this is my first MOPAR motor but that seems very high... I would be interested to see what would happen if it runs at a temp closer to 160-170* it works well for the LS motor anyways.

very interesting...

203* from the factory. A 180* is common but tends to throw a code when it gets colder out, nothing major but it does. A few guys have run a 160 or 170 without issues.
The HEMI benefits from the cooler tstat as heatsoak sucks on these. Don't forget to change your fan settings after you change the tstat.

I'm BAAAAAAAACK....

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.

Yes, I'm on the 3 year plan...so 2018 better be a hellcat Jeep.

If you live where it's cold 6+ months of the year is still worth getting the 180?

I too am looking at the 180 Tstat swap but am finding conflicting info on them, some are saying the Jet 180 Part # 10183 and others are using Motorad part # 4127 or 4128, which one is the best option to go with?
