2015 Jeep SRT Red Vapor Supercharger install Ripp Gen 2 Kit
I have a 2015 red vapor Black crystal clear coat. Just want to start by saying from what I have read on 3 different sites every one talks about the 3 basic kits Demon/Ripp/Whipple and all say theirs is the best and the others are not. I Picked the Ripp Gen 2 Kit based on the overall installs and from what I could see the install. Please no hate mail. I want to just cover my own version of How the install went. So here it goes. My background is in the mechanical field 22 years in the Air force and 10 years of that in the old hobby shop as a paid mechanic. In the Past I have installed several superchargers first was 1993 TBird with a 5.0 and a Paxton than on a 1990 mustang a 96 Cobra Vortech kit and I still have a 93 mustang with a 331 and D1sc(belongs to my son), and last but not least I have a 1954 f100 with a current 557 Big block and a 871 Blower. The truck you can see if you want by looking up http://www.mustangandfords.com/featured-vehicles/mdmp-1106-1954-ford-f-100-pickup/ Enough about the other stuff lets get installing...
First impressions of parts are nice stuff. I ordered all brackets blower and tubes /heat exchanger black powder coated will go perfect with the color of truck
As you probably already know the pcm is an issue with the 2105. The kit I ordered came with the new PCM and I Tune 2 from Diablosport . The pcm was easy install test drive was good so one worry over. Diablo I tune was a little different. Had to contact Ripp and Diablo and we got it to the point of loading the tune but the tune has a slight issue. Ross from Ripp immediately called me and Diablo is fixing it now. The nice part of this is the way they have the directions set up, they want you to go thru the tune stuff first so if there were problems you can still drive the jeep. Since I had everything set for this weekend ( little at a time no hurry)and have another driver, I decided to start the Install of hard parts.
.
I started as the instructions said and did the injectors and plugs and removed front end. The front was the scariest of all I thought it was going to break. I went by the dealership and the body guys there said Pull down ,push in and pull out. Scary but the sides did pop off without breaking. Not a lot of information on fuel injector fuel clips but once you pop up the red part about an 1/4 inch you can push the black clip in and it will unlock. Tune in tomorrow for pictures and more install and pictures.
