4.8!! I was pretty worried that I got a dog (was at around 5.2-5.4 forever) .... but just needed some mileage on it to loosen up I guess.
2500 launch track mode down a level but crappy back road real uneven side to side. I was like c'mon all I want is under 5 seconds..
I'm satisfied for a while now lol Awaiting my catch can and debating on an unlocked ECU and maybe some headers.
PS: Anyone know if the headers will have any negative impact on torque? I'd hate to lose some for a few extra HP.
PSS: Anyone do some real experimenting with the driver mode setup (aka the custom button) to get any quicker?
Next time I'm going to try track tranny/suspension but with sport AWD selected to get more balanced grip up front also that will give me T/C.
Yes. On the 16s you can set a custom mode and choose everything the way you want it. Mine is
Suspension - track
AWD - Track
Transmission - Sport
Stability Control - Sport
Steering - Sport
May I ask what the temperature was when you hit 4.8? I recently purchased a slightly used 15 (16000 k's) and the best 0-100 I have put down is 5.6
As I've heard ambient temps affect the run times up here in Canada or maybe it's something to do with elevation in Calgary? I'm not sure but I really want to hit the 5.0 or sub 5.0 range lol
According to "theweathernetwork" i back dated it and it was about 12C out that night. I'm in Winnipeg. 16,000 kms should be broken in enought to bag on it a bit... go find a nice stretch on the #1 somewhere out of the way with no cars and try a few runs. You try the launch control? put it in sport mode or track mode for some giddy up n' go.
Yes I've done all the different setups, my best was 5.6 in sport mode with no launch control it was a cooler morning around 10 degrees C. I'm a bigger dude around 270lbs maybe i have to hit the gym lol. When I first got it my best run was 6.5 but i didn't really know what I was doing and I had a passenger with me. I did a run last night solo from a red light in sport mode no launch and auto shift and it was 6.3 so seems to be all over the map a bit.
I'll have to go out and find a secluded road and fiddle around with it like you said maybe skip breakfast and take the golf clubs out of the back, I'm not sure how much the weight factor plays into it or maybe this thing wasn't broke in properly by the last owner.
try it in track mode see how it goes. Also you using high octane fuel?
I try usually go to husky to get some 94 or Shell has 93 I think. One thing to remember shell high octane is
all gas husky has ethonal or whatever the hell it is @ like 10%...so not all gas. try and run with 1/2 tank or less.
You should be quicker than that... maybe check your air filter isn't bitched.
Shell definitely doesn't carry 93 octane here in Alberta, we are stuck with 91 or 94 with up to 10% ethanol from husky or petrocan (Ultra 94)
I run the Husky 94 in mine as I found it has knocked the least out of the three.
This tank was Shell 91 as they didn't have the 94 option on my last fill up. Air filter should be good I took it into a Chrysler dealer for a piece of mind inspection after I bought it. I will try with some shell 94 this weekend and see what happens.
From my research on here it doesn't sound like an exhaust and CAI upgrade gets you any real substantial gains to improve times and also justify the price of the upgrades. Any thoughts on that?

What elevation are you at there? In Houston with my wife and myself in the jeep we got a 4.7 in auto mode and then track mode with launch control we got that down to 4.2.
Read this a few hours ago and figured I'd give it a shot. Had the jeep a little over a month and I am at 1038 miles. It's 81 out and rained about 2 hours ago. Clicked a 4.5 first time in launch mode. Here in Dallas btw and I just filled up the tank. It's not letting me post pics but I'll resize them tomorrow.
^^^^ I'm in same area (N. Dallas) and today was my first time to do a 0-60. I have 138 miles on the vehicle, so Launch Control was not able to be activated yet. Had the rear hatch area full of baseball equipment, 3/4 tank of gas. Said 75^ on the display. Set in Sport Mode, flat ground, left foot brake, right foot on gas... punch, no engine load against the converter (not sure if that helps or not). 4.7 seconds. I was extremely pleased. 1st to 2nd shift was at 5500 on the tach, and that may be limited by the computer right now as well, since I'm under 500 miles... I don't know. Have to figure with LC and 50^F air, it will see 4.5 or better. Honestly, I was surprised at what it did, given my first try. Maybe headers, CAI, and tune will put me at 4.1-4.2 in good air? As an aside, I do have the 3-season/Max Performance Summer tires. They are pretty sticky!
^^^of course it varies but my bone stocker (no bolt-ons at time) did 4.2 in 40 deg F (Feb) and can't get better than 4.4 this summer with cat-back, cai and catch-can, no tune....it's always fun no matter what tho...it loves my local 3/8 mi short track on cool summer nights tho, quite fun on such a short track in Track mode as it is always near peak torque so it just pulls hard as heck corner to corner...crowd seems to like seeing a JGC rip around a trap too...
