Hold the pump nozzle up a bit instead of resting it completely in the filler tube and fill slower as you near a full tank. Also you don't want to keep clicking the nozzle in an attempt to fill completely to the top of the filler neck. I'm told overfilling can cause problems with the vapor recovery system in the vehicle.
