newbie on the fence

Greetings fellow speed enthusiasts. On the verge of plunking down about 61K for a dealer-driven 2012 with luxury group. Vehicle has 5600k miles on it, and an MSRP of $63,380. With this model about to become two "years" old when the 2014 hits the streets next spring, AND with the 2013 model available, I'm not impressed with the offer. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Pass! Atleast i would anyway. I'd wait for the 14 and get a cheap 13 leftover.

They should be moving that for around 56-57 plus tax and fees with those miles. The 61 would still be above invoice.

Yes... dealer claims an invoice of 60 and change, but with the miles on it and a 2014 about to roll out, he's got to move down a few thou.

I grabbed mine less then their cost. They have trouble moving stuff they put miles on, so they let them go cheaper.

Write your phone number on the back of a business card with between 55-58k on it and tell them to call you when they come to their senses.

I assume you're in Canada since you said k not m?

I picked mine up for 54,000 Canadian for 10,000kms/6000mi.

Find a weak point on the vehicle and use it to your advantage. Mine didn't have a sun roof (which I like with my height). But cars without sun roofs don't move as well, so you can push prices lower because if it. Find scratches and stuff, point it all out to them. Make them realize they are asking a lot.

My sales guy went back and forth to the boss about 12 times before we agreed on a price. I visited the dealership about 4 times and showed them I was willing to walk.

Good luck. Don't settle till you're satisfied.

It's a great truck, worth fighting them for
