I found a 2013 mineral gray on autotrader, fully loaded, with 5k miles for $57k. There are a few brand new 2013s for under $60k.
Bottom line, it's exactly as predicted. The market determines the price, not the maker or the dealer. After the buzz wore off, these are all over the place. There are a lot of used for sale and a lot of new for fair prices. A brand new loaded is worth about $60k IMHO. The prices are all over the place. Some dealers are asking $70k!
I don't expect there to be a whole lot of buzz surrounding the 2014 either. It will be short lived and then prices will settle. The SRT Jeep is a niche vehicle, it will never be a BMW or Mercedes, nor do I want it to be. The people who jumped ship to have the newest horse in town are putting theirs up for sale and going back to the German sleds. I know two separate people in Houston who have already done this.
It's gonna be the same thing with the new Viper.
Not a fan of groupthink and limitless congratulatory high-fives.
