Hellcat-Powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Could Be Delayed, One-And-Done

https://www.yahoo.com/autos/s/hellca...152100935.html

Those sources at JeepTrackhawkForums say the delay will lead to an extended model year for the 2018 TrackHawk--and then no more, since Chrysler could be ready to retire the HEMI and Hellcat engines after the 2018 model year.

Hopefully it's all crap, but it's pretty obvious FIAT still doesn't understand the American market well. The 500 is a little turd with a limited market and it's not doing well. Their Alfa Romeo push is risky at best and their goal for Maserati to be a Mercedes or BMW is laughable; possible, but laughable. The Maseratis are beautiful cars that are incredibly finicky and unreliable. They also depreciate like rocks which is why so many poor people look fly driving them around town. FIAT is a junk car in Europe.

They're likely going to completely **** Dodge and Jeep and the war path they've been on to help fund the introduction of their stupid forced European business model.

FIAT should be begging Daimler to let the Grand Cherokee share the next gen Mercedes ML's platform (whatever it's called now).

Just my opinion.

Not a fan of groupthink and limitless congratulatory high-fives.

'14 Billet Silver Metallic SRT.

Yep, I agree... I was never very impressed with them.... I always thought they were a huge waste of money, time and resources. They could have just thrown a blower on a forged 6.1 and sold the Charger in mass production instead of wasting all this money, time and energy on the Hellcat. Am I wrong for thinking this way?

The idea is great the execution lacked severely. FIAT didn't even pin the crank pulley ...

That "waste of money, time and energy" has gotten Dodge more press in the last year than it has had in the previous decade combined. It's the most talked about car in the country. That's what low volume, halo type cars do. If anything, the Hellcat has made Dodge relevant again.
