Did anyone try to install 2008-2010 Jeep SRT8 aftermarket headlights instead of 2006-2007 headlights?
I found some decent 08-10 headlights for halogen bulbs with the low beam projectors on eBay and I'm looking to install them on my 2006 with 9005 high beam halogens and 9006 latest LED bulbs. Is this possible? Actually I have some ideas but I'll be glad to hear your opinions.
Insertions could be easily fabricated from Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet and attached to the bumper cover with the aluminum rivets. Also could be vinyl wrapped.
BTW I bought on eBay damaged brand new 08-10 passenger side headlight assembly for 10 bux shipped and I don't see any big difference between them except the wave on the bottom.
Here are the items I need for that mod:
Aftermarket headlight with projectors
Stillen covers or AVS 337610
Kensun Super Bright LED 9006 (HB4) Conversion Kit with ETI LED Chips, latest LED bulbs for low beam projectors
Optional : Super Bright LED 9005 (HB4) Conversion Kit with ETI LED Chips for high beam.
I think I don't need a new 2008 and up bumper and 2008 and up grille.
Stillen covers I'll probably CF hydro dip. Should be sexy.
what would be the point of 08-up headlamps and stillen covers? not to mention the stillen covers won't fit the 08-up lol the lamps are missing the whole spot that they would stick to
it's not a problem, a few supports attached to the bottom of the 2008 headlight will fix that. The main thing of that mod is to use 2008 headlight (not HID Xenon) with the projector , LED bulb and the stock harness. There are a lot of bad reviews of inserting just 9006 LED bulb in stock 2006 headlight that's why I'm thinking to use aftermarket 2008 headlight with a projector for halogen bulb only.. Something like that.
if your looking to improve the lamps then LED is not the way, HID is the only way, your way off here bud. use a HID in a HID projector housing just like the OEM jeep uses, the only issue your gona have is the wiring, the plugs are not even close and I've heard its a nightmare to wire. better off just retrofitting some projectors into your OEM housings, less wiring nightmare
You won't see 2008 ++ headlights with the Stillen cover because I took another route. >
I'm waiting for my birthday gift from my kids like eBay 05-07 aftermarket headlights with the low beam projectors and Kensun Super Bright LED 9006 latest bulbs.
I have modified two headlight wiring harnesses ( added two 2-pin connectors) to use them with HALO and parking LED lights.
You are truly taking the cheapest route possible, not to mention the ugliest. Spend some money on your Jeep and make it look astetically appealing, so that when you are out and about people don't look at your Jeep in horror.
First of all it was a surprise gift.
Secondly I can return them at any time but
honestly every person is entitled to their own opinion. You have stated yours and some might agree others may disagree. This isn't the cheapest way in my opinion as that would just be to do nothing, and as per aesthetics, to my preference and to my friends and family who will actually see the jeep on the day to day is actually preferred and looks very nice. Yet this is just our opinion which just like yours may or may not be the best way.
I don't want to spend one grand or more for the same pos as stock. 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Complete HID Projector Headlight Retrofit Package | BlackFlameCustoms.com
Affordable headlights and fog lights replacement has been done.
Low beam projectors: latest LED 9006.
Fog lights: projectors with COB technology LED H3 bulbs.
All HALO's are on on parking lights mode.
3 LED bulbs above the high beam weren't connected only halo.
Low beam lights are much better over the stock. That's was my main goal.Safety is on the first place.
