If it was a bullet, it would have had to come from the rear and roughly parallel to the ground. There's not much room between the rear fascia and the ground to allow the bullet through to the tire. A sniper crouched low? A lucky shot? Or perhaps a ricochet off the tarmac?

You are in Texas....

I'm going with that came from a bullet. It's just way to clean of a hole and looks slightly burnt on the edges of the hole. If it was rebar it would have to been a long piece and it would have more than likely shredded your tire or gotten stuck in the rim.

Is there anyone you've pissed off lately who might want to kill or harm you?? Have you spoken to insurance about it? I would much rather pay my deductible than $1,000+ for new wheels

I don't have an MD or law degree, I have a bachelors in kicking ass and taking names

I'm 21 so I would rather pay out of pocket than raise my rates. They are definitely high enough as it is.

Why would it raise your rates...it should be like when a dog decides to run in front of you...not your fault.

Yup, its amazing how people think a bullet outside of a weapon with the primer struck will fire like a bullet loaded into a weapon...

If it was a bullet that caused this:
Measure the diameter of the hole. From the photos, it looks quite large,(.308 or larger) which means depending upon the velocity of the round fired it shows it had substantial penetration thus you would have secondary damage to whatever was in the path once it passed clean through the rim.

The ricochet theory while sounds cool you would have substantial case deformation and the hole wouldn't look so "clean"

FYI FMJ .308 can easily penetrate 1/2" of mild steel at less than 500 yards.

IMO it wasn't a bullet, rather something circular sticking out of the ground
