My very clean wheels looked swirled :(

I pulled off my wheels to give them their well deserved VGC-very good cleaning. And man, they look like swirled paint. These are not the Dura-Brights.

If I am gonna polish them, I want to do it right. I want to try a get a mirror finish.

First, has anyone ever polished theirs to a mirror finish-if so, how?
Second, I read about someone using a metal protectant to keep them clean, but cant find the thread.

I would appreciate some input please.

Non DB wheels are clear coated just like you paint. You can try doing a paint correction on them, test a small spot first, DO NOT use metal polish on them.

Idiot that owned my truck before me used either metal polish or steel wool on the front left. Moron figured it out after one wheel at least.

Glad I just read this. I have an 08, and my wheels are a little dull. I WAS about to have them polished. What is the correct way then?

Just use a good wheel cleaner, then use a quality polish that you would use on your paint, and call it a day. Clear coated factory wheels are what they are....not going to get a brilliant high gloss shine. If you really want high shine, get yourself some chrome factory reps.

Garage
As Jim said, don't use a metal polish on them.. Think a lot of guys do this and realize they shouldn't have.
