So, with my trap pretty consistent @105, would a lower tire pressure help my 1/8th? I've been reading and have no idea how to lower my 60' and 1/8th. 105 traps should be good for a 12.5 ya? (In theroy)
Nice runs…Looks about right for your mods! Do you have a WK1 or WK2? Were you spinning off the line? Where did you get the info that 105 traps should yield a 12.5?
With my bone stock 2012 and running 50/50 mix of vp109 with 91 (a total of 5 gal) with oem tires with 40 lbs front and 36 rear in a DA of +1178 ft my best runs in the 1/8 mile were in the mid 8.20 to 8.30 @ mid 82 mph with 60' 1.74 to 1.80 launching at idle. Bone stockers with CA 91 octane were running in the 8.60/8.7O @ 78/80 60' 1.88/1.92.
12.5 is going to be more like 110+mph.....If you are not having traction problems then air the tires up until traction becomes a problem (not past max PSI printed on the sidewall) then back em down a couple pounds....higher pressure less rolling resistance..
That's great! From what I've learned around here the CAI and AFE probably didn't do crap for your ET. So that's basically a stock run! That's exciting to hear. No tune correct?
And sorry to change topics, but have you had any issues with your AFE rusting?
Thanks for the tire tips! I will try next outing hopefully. Still have 2 ish gallons of ms109 to burn
Nope, no tune. Just what I mentioned in the OP is what she has. Just got some 5ten wheels in, while I know it's a long shot, but they should save a few pounds of rolling mass.
On to the AFE rust, I see very minor discoloration around the spot welds atm. However, AFAIK, OR DOT doesn't use salt so maybe that's why it's minimal.
